Generally, ground-based temperature gauges are NC level, lacking anti-vibration features, and are used for system and equipment debugging, while remote control systems include temperature sensors, switches, and more. The identification levels for NC temperature sensors are K3, Q2/Q3/NC, and I/NO.

Typically, safety-grade temperature instruments utilize Pt100 resistance thermometers and K or N-type thermocouples. Non-safety-grade temperature instruments include Pt100 resistance thermometers, K or E-type thermocouples, bimetallic thermometers, and pressure thermometers, among others.
